Treatment, ordering and delivery

How much does treatment cost?

The cost of treating your cat is always individual and depends, among other factors, on your cat’s body weight. Your veterinarian will determine the exact dose and appropriate quantity.

You or your veterinarian can consult the “Overview of Quantities and Prices”, which provides an initial overview of quantities required for 30 days and corresponding prices.

What are the advantages of obtaining the medication from Delpech Paris?

a) Legal certainty

The medication is supplied by a licensed pharmacy in France. As procurement is legal, safe and compliant with Article 112 of Regulation (EU) 2019/6, there is no risk of seizure by customs or criminal consequences for unauthorised trading in medicinal products.

b) Pharmaceutical quality and verified concentration

Studies of illegally sourced products containing GS-441524 have found serious deviations from intended active-ingredient content. An insufficient concentration may jeopardise treatment, while an excessive concentration may cause serious adverse effects, including crystalline nephropathy. Delpech prepares medicines in accordance with European standards and tests the active ingredient in line with the European Pharmacopoeia.

c) Veterinary supervision

For the best possible outcome, veterinary monitoring is required in addition to a quality-assured medicine. Lawful treatment can be professionally supervised and individually adjusted.

d) Suitable dosage form

Many illegally sourced products are intended for subcutaneous administration. Delpech provides oral dosage forms that are well tolerated and easier to administer, without the risk of skin necrosis or injection-site pain.

Protecting the human–animal bond

In a US cohort study, many owners reported that painful injections of illegally sourced GS-441524 adversely affected their bond with their cat. This was discussed by Professor Dr Katrin Hartmann during the Akademie Villa Aurora webinar in April 2025. Lawful treatment under veterinary supervision protects your cat and helps preserve your close bond.

What is the quality and efficacy of GS-441524?

The GS-441524 used is supplied by a laboratory that follows Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). In addition to the manufacturer’s certificate of analysis, the active substance has been reanalysed in the European Union to confirm compliance with the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur. 2034). GS-441524 is therefore sourced and used lawfully.

The paste is an immediate-release oral dosage form, free from allergens and without excipients expected to significantly affect bioavailability. It is comparable to an immediate-release tablet or liquid suspension; the same applies to flavouring.

Black-market product efficacy may be uncertain because quality and content are not reliably controlled. Analyses have identified substantial differences between labelled and measured content, in some reports by up to 90%.

Delpech recommends dosage guidance based on scientific literature and assures pharmaceutical quality and conformity. A retrospective study by Taylor, S. S. et al. (2023) provides evidence for effectiveness of legally sourced compounded remdesivir and GS-441524. Published outcomes with legally sourced, appropriately dosed products generally report success rates of approximately 80% to 97%, depending on the study population, form of FIP and protocol.
